Port Stephens Wood Workers is the home of the famous ‘Rocking’ breed of horses. These horses are a delight for children with many hours of fun guaranteed.

Individually hand crafted by our expert members, each horse takes 3 months to make, and each one unique – no mass production line here. Our members all have different skills, from the initial wood selections, composite gluing, rough shaping through to the finished ‘block’.

Other members then perform the careful process of finely honing (carving, sanding) the wood until all are satisfied it is the best it can be. Spray painting is then applied in numerous coats to provide both an appropriate colouring and a long lasting finish

Still other members are engage on the finest leather works both for the reins and saddle. The mane and tail are further examples of the care and authenticity to our ‘Rocking’ breed.

Our breed stands 1.2 metres tall, 1.5 metres long and .5 metre wide. They weigh approx. 40kgs. Wood selection varies or we can  custom make it to your requirements.
